The Institute
of the Ursuline Sisters of M.I. was founded by Blessed
Brigida Morello in 1649 in Piacenza, via Roma, where it is
still located.
The aim of this foundation has been, from the beginning, the
promotion of human, christian and cultural training and
education of young women.
Next to their schools, the Ursuline Sisters have opened a
college for the pupils of “scuola media” and high school
living out of town.
In 1993, in response to the demands of the area, the
Institute opened a University College with the aim of
welcoming and supporting the students who are compelled to
live far from their families in order to complete their
studies.
The aim of the University is to help train young women in
order that they will be able to achieve positions of
responsibility both in their private lives and in employment,
thanks to the human and cultural experience developed
through relationship and learning.
Life in the College is animated by the vivacity and active
interest of the young women in the different community
projects.
The College of the Ursuline Sisters is a building of
historical value, located in the heart of the city center;
it perfectly meets the needs of a community of young people.
The bedrooms, provided with washbasins, are wide, calm and
sunny with a view of the garden.
The toilets, bathrooms and showers, in two blocks, are along
the corridor.
The following facilities are available to guests:a kitchen,
a canteen, study rooms, a TV room, a laundry, a library, a
chapel,a gym, a big garden and a large terrace.
The computer room is provided with devices of latest
technology: two PCs with ADSL and WIFI connection for
laptops with printers. |
